What do you get when you mix 29 ladies, 20 horses, 2 top-class instructors, 2 mischievous fairies, and just a little too much wine? The VHPRC Residential Camp at Stockland Lovell, of course!
Our fabulous riding club descended on Stockland Lovell for two unforgettable days filled with tuition, fun, laughter (lots of it!), and a few surprises along the way. From flatwork to jumping, everyone got stuck in with enthusiasm, pushing boundaries and making brilliant progress.
We were lucky to be under the expert eyes of Anthony Perkins and Anna Gallie, who coached us all with patience, humour, and a healthy dose of encouragement. A huge thank you to them both for sharing their knowledge and helping us all grow in confidence.
Of course, no camp would be complete without photographic evidence – and thanks to the dynamic duo of Suzey and her sister Cerys, we now have hundreds of wonderful (and sometimes hilarious) moments captured forever. Watch this space for the official gallery!
Behind the scenes, Kim Saunders deserves a standing ovation. From booking the venue to organising timetables, meals, stabling and everything in between, Kim was the calm at the centre of our (sometimes chaotic) storm. Thank you, Kim – we’d be lost without you!
And now for the highly anticipated Camp Awards:
🏅 Best Improved Rider (Anthony's pick): Hazel Britton – consistent, committed and full of balls.
🏅 Best Improved Rider (Anna's pick): Kay Crawford – a shining example of how positivity pays off.
🙌 Most Helpful Member: Kate Pickett – always ready to lend a hand (or hoof!).
🤣 Camp Clanger: Joint winners – Kate Ella and Jen Moreton – the stories shall remain a closely guarded camp secret... for now!
🎭 Most Entertaining Members: Shared between our mysterious and mischievous Camp Fairies, our ever-cheerful Chairman Jodi Taylor, and partner-in-laughter Committee Member Sara Cooke – you certainly kept us all on our toes!
We were also very lucky to have some fabulous new members come along this year, its always good to have fresh meat HAHA! But we'd like to encourage any members to come along and join in.... it’s events like this that remind us what VHPRC is all about – friendship, support, and a whole lot of fun with our horses.
From early-morning feed rounds to late-night giggles (and questionable dance moves), this camp truly had it all!!...............Until next year – same time, same place? 🍷🐴✨
